How can we help?

Answers to the questions we get most often — about booking a space, paying for it, and running a listing of your own.

Booking a space

Finding a date, holding it, and knowing when it's actually yours.

Is the availability I see on a listing accurate?+
Yes. Every listing shows live availability, and the date you pick is checked again the moment your booking is written — so if two people go for the last remaining slot at the same time, only one booking is created and the other is told immediately. You will never be shown as booked for a slot that was already taken.
Why does my booking say “pending approval” instead of confirmed?+
Some hosts review each request before accepting it — wedding spaces usually do, because a full-day booking is a bigger commitment. Your deposit is taken when you book so the date is held for you. If the host declines, you are refunded in full. You can see the current status any time under My Bookings.
How soon will a host respond?+
Most hosts respond within a day. You will get an email as soon as they approve or decline, and you can message them directly from the booking in the meantime if your date is tight.
Can I book a space and a service together?+
They are two separate bookings today. Book your space first, then book a photographer, caterer, or DJ from Services for the same date — you approve and pay for each one separately, and each has its own confirmation.
Do different kinds of space book differently?+
They do, and the listing always shows which applies. A wedding hall is normally booked as a whole day. A party room is booked in fixed blocks, such as three hours. A meeting room may have several identical rooms available, so the same hour can be booked more than once until they run out. You do not need to work any of this out — pick a date and the listing shows you what is actually free.

Payment and refunds

What you pay now, what you pay later, and how money comes back.

How do I pay, and is my card safe?+
You pay by FPX online banking or card, on our payment partner’s own secure page. BookSpace never sees or stores your card number or banking login.
Why am I only being charged part of the price?+
Most listings take a deposit to secure the date rather than the full amount upfront. The checkout shows you exactly what is due now and what remains. The balance is settled directly with the host or service by the date they specify, not through BookSpace. Because that money never reaches us we cannot refund it — but if they cancel, their terms require them to return it to you, and we can act against their account if they do not.
What refund do I get if I cancel?+
BookSpace applies one cancellation policy to every listing — hosts and providers cannot set their own. You get everything back if you cancel within 24 hours of paying, whatever the event date. Between 24 hours and 3 days after paying you are still refunded in full if your event is at least 30 days away; nearer than that, or more than 3 days after payment, nothing is refunded. The clock runs from when you paid, not from the event date. The full policy, including what happens when a host cancels, is on our refund policy page. The exact refund amount is shown to you when you cancel, before you confirm. BookSpace adds no cancellation fee on top, and the refund covers your deposit and our own charge — only the processing fee, which goes to the payment provider, is not returned.
How long does a refund take?+
Our team processes refunds by hand, because our payment provider does not yet support automatic reversals. Allow up to 14 working days for the money to reach your account. If it has been longer, email support@bookspace.my with your booking reference.
What if the host cancels on me?+
You are refunded in full, and we will help you find an alternative for the same date where we can.

For hosts

Listing a space, setting your terms, and getting paid.

How do I list my space?+
Apply from List your space. Once your application is approved you can add a space, upload photos, and set your pricing. A listing goes live once it is verified, has enough photos, and has a price set — your space page shows you exactly which of those is still outstanding.
Where do I change my pricing or cancellation policy?+
In the host console, open Spaces and pick the space. Its Details tab covers the address, category, approval mode, and cancellation policy; the rooms and packages tab covers per-room pricing, capacity, booking style, and any named rate tiers.
Can I require approval instead of instant booking?+
Yes — it is a setting on each space’s Details tab. With approval on, requests arrive in Bookings for you to accept or decline, and the customer’s deposit is held until you do.
How do I block out dates I'm not available?+
Use Calendar in the host console. Blocking a period takes it off sale immediately for the room you choose, and existing confirmed bookings are never affected.
When do I get paid?+
After the event takes place, and you receive the full price you listed — BookSpace takes no commission. Every payout’s amount and status are shown under Payouts. Payouts are currently released by our team on a regular cycle to the bank account you gave during verification.
Can I hire a photographer or caterer for my own event?+
Yes — Providers in the host console lets you send a direct hire request. That is a private arrangement between you and the service; BookSpace records it so their calendar stays accurate, but does not handle the payment.

For services

Photographers, caterers, florists, DJs, and anyone hired for an event.

How is a service listing different from a space?+
You travel to the event rather than hosting it, so instead of rooms you publish services with their own rates — per hour, per person, or per event. Every booking you receive is a request you approve or decline; nothing is ever confirmed without you.
Who can book me?+
Customers booking you directly for their event, and hosts hiring you for an event at their space. Both arrive as requests in your console, and both appear on the same calendar so you cannot be double-booked.
How do I edit my services and rates?+
Open Services in the provider console. Each service carries its own price and unit, and your public profile updates as soon as you save.

Account and trust

Verification, reviews, and keeping your account secure.

Are the reviews on a listing genuine?+
Only a customer with a completed booking can leave a review on that space or service, so every rating comes from someone who actually attended. We never edit reviews to favour a listing.
What does a verified host mean?+
That an administrator has checked the business’s contact and banking details before the listing was allowed to accept bookings. Verified hosts carry a badge on their listings.
I changed my password — why was I signed out elsewhere?+
That is deliberate. Changing or resetting your password ends every other active session, so if someone else had access to your account, a password change removes it straight away.
Something went wrong with a booking. What can I do?+
Open the booking and use Report an issue. Our team reviews what both sides say and can issue a refund or hold a payout where the outcome warrants it.
